As a result of the supreme court decision in South Dakota v. Wayfair, online sellers are now responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax, even when they do not have a physical presence in the state. Navigating sales tax nexus is a cumbersome process, with policies varying by state.
We help ease that burden by connecting you to TaxCloud.
When we work with you as your agency or software provider, you maintain an inventory position, so your business is responsible for filing and remitting taxes. We partner with TaxCloud to assist you so you can keep all your e-commerce needs under one roof, streamlining brand management.
Each state has different minimum sales thresholds before you are required to file taxes in that state. TaxCloud will monitor all of your online sales and notify you when you’re nearing the threshold for any state that you’re not already registered in.
When you near a state’s threshold, TaxCloud will assist you with registration and filings. If TaxCloud submits a filing on your behalf and the state issues a notice, TaxCloud will handle the audit to remedy the issue at no additional cost.
TaxCloud’s services are free in states that have signed the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement (SSUTA). There is a fee of 0.5% of gross sales for sales that occur in non-member states.
Our experts will help you safely navigate the pitfalls of e-commerce.
