Web Site TWEC.COM Announces The First Fully Integrated Music Download Service With Amplified.com

Digital Downloads Allows Music Fans To Purchase Singles By More Than 1,300 Artists

TWEC.COM (www.twec.com), the e-commerce web site of leading
entertainment products retailer Trans World Entertainment Corporation
(Nasdaq: TWMC), today announced the launch of the first fully
integrated digital downloads service, as well as a Digital Downloads
section on the site. The feature enables visitors to the site to
securely preview and purchase more than 8,000 singles by more than
1,300 artists, with more being added daily.

Provided by Amplified.com, the fully integrated system offers an
improved shopping experience for consumers. Online customers can now
purchase music downloads and other TWEC.COM products at the same time,
using the same shopping cart. “Integrated Digital Downloads is the
latest in a series of value-added services that Trans World offers its
customers,” said Robert J. Higgins, Trans World’s president and chief
executive officer. “By enabling customers to buy electronic singles at
the same time as other products, this integrated system is the first
of its kind in the music retail industry.”

“This is a significant breakthrough in the world of digital
distribution,” said Wayne Parker, president and founder of
Amplified.com. “As a business-to-business company, we strive to
accommodate retailers in a seamless and efficient manner. We are
delighted to be the first in the marketplace to offer this service to
Trans World Entertainment, a market leader in music retail. We are
looking forward to their continued growth online.”

The music downloads use Liquid Audio Music Player software, which
is available free at TWEC.COM, as well as Microsoft Media Player. In
addition to the integrated commercial service provided through
Amplified.com, TWEC.COM is presenting both exclusive and non-exclusive
tracks for downloading, many of which are free promotional offerings
for consumers. Currently, TWEC.COM is featuring “Bliss” from Tori
Amos’ forthcoming album, the single “Higher” from Creed’s new album
“Human Clay” which will be released at the end of September, and Meat
Loaf’s classic song “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad” in addition to
several others.

Within the next few months, TWEC.COM and Amplified.com will add
custom CD compilations to the integrated package.
