ALBANY, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 14, 1999–TWEC.COM (www.twec.com), the e-commerce site of leading entertainment products retailer Trans World Entertainment Corporation (Nasdaq National Market: TWMC), has launched a previously announced exclusive agreement with online concert site, Gigmania.com. The agreement positions TWEC.COM as the preferred CD music, video and video game provider for product sales on the Gigmania site (www.gigmania.com).
Under the terms of the agreement, TWEC.COM has placed a “Get CD” button on www.gigmania.com that links artist tour dates listed on the Gigmania web site to the TWEC artist discography pages, which list album information on a particular artist. For each artist displayed on the Gigmania site, TWEC.COM features up to three of the most current concert tour dates listed on Gigmania.com as well as a link back to Gigmania for additional tour information. In addition, by linking to Gigmania.com, visitors to www.twec.com can purchase tickets online.
“As we continue to implement our unique clicks and bricks strategy, our partnership with Gigmania has enabled us to add an important live element to our comprehensive online music superstore,” said Michael Madden, President/COO. “This partnership was a natural next step for TWEC.COM as we continue to expand our e-commerce offerings.”
“Gigmania innovated the way live music is listed by integrating content and service links into its database of concerts. By partnering with TWEC.com for CD fulfillment, we align ourselves with one of the major players in the entertainment Etail and brick and mortar retail business,” said Gigmania Co-founder and CEO, Tyson Daugherty.
According to the agreement, TWEC.COM links artists’ products and/or discography pages directly to Gigmania’s artist tour pages. Further promotion of the agreement between TWEC.COM and Gigmania will take place in the Trans World stores, including such possible promotions as in-store posters, promotional product giveaways and in-store advertisements.
