ALBANY, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 31, 2000–TWEC.COM (www.twec.com), the e-commerce site of leading entertainment products retailer Trans World Entertainment Corporation (Nasdaq:TWMC), today announced a marketing partnership with PowerAdz.com, an online newspaper network that publishes more than 1,200 newspapers online.
According to the terms of the agreement, both companies will create a co-branded web site providing readers of more than 1,200 different newspapers with a direct link to the latest entertainment news and products on www.twec.com. The site will include a variety of entertainment information including top selling products, latest and upcoming releases, feature items as well as several links to other exciting sites.
The co-branded site will create a turn key entertainment section distributed to the PowerAdz.com affiliate network of national and regional newspapers, including the Dallas Morning News, New York Post, Orange County Register, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Bergen Record. This provides a unique opportunity for TWEC.COM to reach regional communities across the country.
“This agreement with PowerAdz.com presents TWEC.COM with an opportunity to reach local communities nationwide,” said Jim Litwak, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising, Trans World Entertainment. “Thanks to the web pages created by PowerAdz.com, TWEC.COM will have another online presence, which will drive “hometown” audiences to our site, www.twec.com, and from there to our retail stores.”
“Trans World’s content gives our online affiliate newspaper readers additional resources for popular entertainment products,” said Mark Chudzicki, president and CEO of PowerAdz.com. “As web site readership increases, our network affiliates can provide an effective marketplace for their advertisers.”
