Chat Live with Def Squad on the Eve of Their New Album Release at the Web's Entertainment Center

ALBANY, N.Y., June 22 /PRNewswire/ — TWEC.COM (http://www.twec.com), the
e-commerce site of leading entertainment products retailer Trans World
Entertainment Corporation (Nasdaq: TWMC), announced today that it will host a
live chat with hot hip-hop crew Def Squad as part of its exciting lineup of
events during the week of 6/26. The Web’s Entertainment Center will hold live
online chats with Gas Giants, Arturo Sandoval, Sonia Dada and Pink. TWEC.COM
will also air a live webcast starring the Toasters in conjunction with the
Electric Factory and iCON Broadcasting. In addition, the RadioWoodstock On
Stage series continues when TWEC.COM broadcasts a taped audio concert starring
Trish Murphy. Details for each event are as follows:

MONDAY 6/26

  • The RadioWoodstock On Stage series continues this week with the
broadcast of an audio concert starring Texan singer/songwriter Trish Murphy.
Murphy was inspired to pursue music by her father, who was also a musician.
She released her first album, “Crooked Mile,” by herself in 1997. The concert
with this gifted singer/songwriter airs at the following times: Monday 6/26
at 4:00 PM EDT, Wednesday 6/28 at 11:00 AM EDT, Saturday 7/1 at 3:00 AM EDT
and Sunday 7/2 at 7:00 PM EDT.

  • At 9:00 PM EDT, join TWEC.COM for a live chat with Def Squad. The rap
supergroup, whose members Redman, Keith Murray and Erick Sermon, scored a hit
with their cover of the classic rap song “Rapper’s Delight.” Their debut
album, “El Nino,” was released in 1998. The highly-anticipated follow-up to
that album, entitled “Def Squad Presents Erick Onasis,” hits sites and stores
    on Tuesday 6/27.

TUESDAY 6/27

  • At 9:00 PM EDT, tune in to TWEC.COM for a live chat with Gas Giants.
Featuring members of now-defunct rock band the Gin Blossoms, the Gas Giants
released their debut LP “Beyond the Back Burner” in 1998. The Gas Giants was
one of the first rock bands to launch a record as a digital download. While
maintaining a sound similar to that of the Gin Blossoms, the Gas Giants’ sound
is a bit harder than its predecessors.

WEDNESDAY 6/28

  • At 8:00 PM EDT, join The Web’s Entertainment Center for a live chat
with legendary jazz musician Arturo Sandoval. Sandoval is an immaculate
trumpeter who hails from Cuba, defecting to the United States in 1990. His
first American album, “Flight to Freedom,” displayed his flexibility in
several different styles of jazz. Sandoval’s latest album, “Americana,” was
    released in 1999.

  • Following the chat with Arturo Sandoval, join TWEC.COM for a live chat
with Sonia Dada, beginning at 9:00 PM EDT. Sonia Dada is a quirky,
multi-genre rock band that was formed in Chicago in the spring of 1990. Their
self-titled debut, released in 1995, scored a hit with “You Don’t Treat Me No
    Good.”

THURSDAY 6/29

  • At 8:00 PM EDT, tune into TWEC.COM for a live chat with up-and-coming
R&B crooner Pink. Pink is currently climbing the charts with her hit song
“There You Go,” off of her debut album “Can’t Take Me Home.” The young diva,
who calls herself Pink after her corresponding shade of hair, was raised in a
musical household and was singing in clubs in her hometown of Philadelphia by
the time she was a young teenager.

  • At 8:00 PM EDT, tune in to TWEC.COM for a live webcast starring ska
band The Toasters, in conjunction with Electric Factory and iCON Broadcasting.
The Toasters were one of the most influential ska bands of the 1980s, playing
a major role in the popularization of ska and paving the way for bands like
    the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
